Front Row Technologies, LLC ("Front Row") was founded in 2000 by inventors Luis Ortiz and Kermit Lopez with the idea of overcoming the limited viewing opportunities available then to audiences of live activities.   Front Row's intellectual property has since matured and captures the technological innovations that now solve the shortcomings previously experienced in the broadcast and receipt of video content from live activities taking place at sports stadiums and entertainment venues.

Front Row Technologies Scores Key Sports Tech Patent

Front Row Technologies, LLC today announced that it has been issued a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) covering the authorization of computing devices (e.g., tablets, smartphone, laptop computers, etc) for receipt of venue-based data (e.g., sports video, statistics, concession offerings, etc) based on the geographic location of the user.  U.S. Patent No. 8,750,784 entitled “Method, System and Server for Authorizing Computing Devices for Receipt of Venue-Based Data Based on the Geographic Location of a User” issued on June 10, 2014 and includes claims covering for example, the use of hand held computing devices in a venue based on the user’s location within the stadium, concert arena or other venue. 

Front Row's Patent 8,583,027 - authorizing devices for receipt of venue-based data based on the location of a user

Albuquerque, NM -- On November 12, 2013, U.S. Patent 8,583,027 was issued by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office covering the Front Row patent "Methods and systems for authorizing computing devices for receipt of venue-based data based on the location of a user."

The abstract reads as follows:

"Methods and systems for authorizing access by a user of at least one service associated with an event at a venue based on a location of the user as determined by assets of a data communications network (e.g., Internet protocol based networks, computer network, telecommunications network, wireless network, Internet, etc). A location of at least one user can be determined based on communications of at least one computing device utilized by the at least one user with the data communications network supporting data communications of the at least one computing device. The at least one computing device can be authorized to receive the at least one service based on the location as determined by the data communications network and/or a server. The data communications network can further comprise at least one of a server, a gateway, a home location register and a visiting location register."

Front Row's Venue Positioning System

Albuquerque, NM - Front Row Technologies, LLC announces that on January 16, 2014, the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office published Front Row's U.S. Patent Application Publication No. 20140018109 related to a venue positioning system.  This system includes the use of mobile communication devices such as Smartphones and/or tablet computing devices functioning in concert with one another to communicate with and determine location information regarding one or more hand held devices in a sports or concert venue.  This invention also provides to hand held devices, video captured by cameras located throughout the venue and, for example, statistical data, team data, scores, concession information, text messages, and Internet access.
